I look around our small one bedroom and all I can see is stuff: pillows in various shapes and sizes; magazines, some recent, some from 2004; cheap jewelry that I never wear(who needs a fur ring?); not only my bridal bouquet, but also the flowers that were given to us from the hotel we spent our first ‘married’ night; stones and sand from various locations; souvenirs from all over; books; shoes, shampoos, carvings, kitchen accessories, and the list can continue for pages. In short, a truckload of …nothing.
So I started to look for professional help in de-clutter. I found it in the zenhabits blog, as well as my latest purchase, a book called Simplify your Life. As I read all of the advice, I got lots of energy and the feeling I can move mountains. But I start slowly by drawing a plan of action.
In order to stay motivated I am making this public. The next days and months, we will focus on actions to simplify life, live with less and enjoy more.
Mr. Van is also part of this, but he doesn’t know it yet.
