Definition of time

Time has a new dimension here. Everything moves slow to very slow. Everybody is super chilled, there is no rush to get something done, to get somewhere or to reach something. At least that's how it looks like from outside.

I went to the bank with Mr. Van today. The courtyard looks like a spa entrance. The security guard was hiding from the afternoon sun in a smartly placed hammock. A lonely chicken was running around and the birds were screaming something. Somebody's house was located on the premises and their laundry was drying outside. Peace and quiet once again.

And then, the last visit to my bank hit me: full glass building with a feng-shui-ed water fall and small pond outside, the bank's flags proudly placed. After parking the car, paying the parking fee, coming back to the car and placing the ticket on the dashboard, I headed towards the automatic doors. First stop is the crowd control machine that gives you the numbered ticket according to your area of concern. I sat down in the air conditioned waiting area for my dedicated customer representative who was wearing a two piece suit to come and invite me into her full glass cubicle where I was offered a glass of water and a mint.

I snapped out of my dream 10 minutes later when Mr. Van came back with a backpack full of money: the equivalent of $300.

'Dorothy, we are not in Kansas anymore!'
