For the past week Vietnam has been grey and rainy, no more tourists by the beach, no more sun bathing, no more happiness inducing rays.
All this rain also means that the already unreliable electricity system is even more unstable.
Yesterday we woke up at 6 am in a hot and steamy room (mind you,nothing was going on :)
Power was gone since yesterday and stayed so throughout the night and most of the morning. No laptop charging (long live the Mac's battery), no internet, fridge on the verge of defrosting and no hot water!
In the evening, encouraged by the steady flow of electricity for the past hour, we embarked on the great adventure that is pancake making. It lasted 12 minutes! Making pancakes is not easy, but when you have to flip them in the dark, it is a different ball game altogether. Only one landed on the floor, I promise …
I am telling you, one more thing I no longer take for granted is electricity.
