We are shyly coming back and seeing that the last post we wrote was almost a month ago...We burry our head in the vietnamese sand and try to blame it one the baby? Isn't this how it works?
So here is what we have been doing recently:
GROWING... And I don't mean that as a metaphorical term. We are physically growing! Bellies and all... Both of us!
We are now 20 weeks along. For those of you not familiar with maternity terms, that means that this is exactly half way of the free rent that the MiniVan is taking advantage of! On the right side of this page you can see exactly how long we have left and what are the exciting changes that the baby goes through while performing butterfly strokes in the maternal waters.
How do we feel? Well, word of the day seems to be HUNGRY.. All the time! We aim for anything anywhere anytime, the more the better. Not craving anything in particular, just pure hunger... The pregnant woman tries to keep it under control, but most times she gives up the apple in favor of the apple pie.
We do not know if MiniVan's room will be filled with cars or with dolls, and we are only planning to find out when everybody else finds out: when the dude(ess) is coming out in the world...in about 20 more weeks...
Next month we are invited by our doctor to glimpse inside the belly with a 3D scan followed by massive amounts of blood being taken away from the Mrs. for some glycemic index of some sort that apparently pregnant women have to worry about. Other things that are on the no-no list are: raw fish, rafting, mosquitos, eggs, skiing, liver, lighting and other domestic dangers.
We are planning also a Christmas dinner with the fellow colleagues and friends here in our village. We eyed a beautiful 8 kilo bird to conquer and serve to 8 hungry people. Will keep you posted on how that's working out with pictures and all..
Apartment is all finished and furnished. We know we promised pictures, but we are still waiting for a sunny day. For now, Vietnam is grey, cold and rainy… Looking through the window, with the right imagination it looks pretty much like Christmas in Belgium. Happy Holidays to everyone!
